November 16, 2004: Barfer: The Plains

What a beautiful day to be alive
Where nothing is so terribly wrong
And I don’t need to take a dive
To dance and sing a happy song.

What a beautiful day to be a Barney.
So if you’re fearful, if you’re scared,
A cheerful smile is our key
To be brave, to be prepared.

What a beautiful day to turn an enemy into a friend
With a kind word, with a song, with a smile
And you will see that most any problem you can mend
Doing it Barney style.

What a… What? A noise. Click. Click-click.
I should be quiet instead.
A shadow, a pant, a huff. What foul trick?
No. I’m found, I’m caught, I’m had, I’m…

Bea Murphy

Ah, sorry, it’s not a quotation, just the product of another bored mind. :]

Bob, Heather,

Thanks. This was, of course, selfish and indulgent but also a lot of fun. Heather: Where is the quotation from?

Love the photo, looks like something out of a movie. Dramatic.

“the light shined on him but there was a sense of unease… in the shadows looks a presence familiar but perhaps not altogether benevolently..”

Seems you’ve influenced others :-)

Okay — I LOVE this photo…. it’s great. Murph watching over her Barney —- it’s so surreal - yet so …. hmmm… can’t think of a word for it all… Barney in the spotlight - Murph just taking it all in… Good stuff…
